Age & Date Difference Calculator
Get your exact age or the time between any two dates — in years, months, days, weeks and total days.
How it's calculated
Years, months and days are counted the way people state ages: full years first, then full months, then remaining days (borrowing the length of the previous month when needed). Total days are the calendar days between the two dates, not counting the end date, so it already accounts for leap years. Dates are computed in UTC so daylight-saving changes never shift the count.
Questions & answers
Does the day count include the end date?
No. From January 1 to January 2 counts as 1 day. If you need to include both the start and end dates (for example, to count days of a trip), add 1.
How are leap years handled?
Automatically — the calculator uses real calendar dates, so February 29 and leap years are counted correctly.
How is age calculated for someone born on February 29?
In non-leap years this calculator rolls the birthday to March 1 when counting days to the next birthday; legal rules for the birthday date can vary by state.
